I just wanna know from real world results mileage of the 2 ratios. I have an automatic. Vortec folks preferred as this will be the most helpful to me.
I welcome any and all to tell me all info so i can make this decision

The rpm difference at 70 is only about 250, so I doubt the mileage is seriously different.

My Vortec Yukon with 265'S and 3.42's got around 15. My current TBI Sierra with 265's and 3.73's get around 15. My Trailblazer with 4.56's and 33's gets around 15. See a trend? Lol

I do, in every V8 4x4 I've ever owned with overdrive. Maybe 14.8, maybe 16.1.... But more or less in the 15 range always.

My C10 has no OD, it gets about 12.

Swapped out my 3.08's for 3.42's. Made no difference in mileage. Power is better though, which is what I was after. 27.5" tires

I bought my C10 in Arkansas lol.

I actually spent a few years building transmissions for plow trucks and pull trucks, I just went back to work for the man. The C10 is a fun truck though, it'll get a manual someday, but idc about mileage in it.

For that matter I don't terribly care about mileage at all, or I'd drive things that get better than 15 lmao

Lol i get that if i wasn't an hour from work it wouldn't matter as much i am about to move closer so its looking like im going 4.10s and a true trac. Is there any posi/limited slip option for the front?

I don't think so, not for the half ton.

I have the same issue with my Trailblazer, nothing for locking up the front at all.
