1998 Chevy Silverado Torsion Bar Question!

I want to raise them up about an inch and a half, i dont wanna spend a grand on a lift just to do what i want. if i raised them up how would the truck ride? would it mess it up in the long run? if it would mess it up how long would it take for me to notice it?
