They did make sf14 bolt axles in a 14 bolt. Just because it's 6 lug doesn't mean it's 10 bolt.

Vin breakdown would be required for more detail.

Typically, it means you get the heavier suspension and 14b semifloting rear axle.

But that doesn't mean they didn't come with 10b rears.

Gm is known for doing some oddball things from time to time.

True...I had a C1500 with a 305 TBI and the TH400 heavy duty transmission lol

Hold on a tick. The op is a 1500. I missed that first time around.

F44 on a 1500 typically was mostly a spring package.

They could come with 14b sf, but typically came with 10b. Other than springs, they're pretty much the 1500 if they don't have the14bsf rear.

2500 "light heavy duty" gets a bit murkier as they could come with the big or small 14b. I've never heard of a 10b on a 2500.

I know that the 1500 Diesels got the 14b SF...but thats one of those middle ground trucks...not quite a 1500 but not quite a 2500 either...

Yes, this is what i have read too on wonderfull internet :) on K1500 its like a roulette when they choose parts.. axel there, spring here, lets but brakes on that :)
