Hello, Longtime GM owner here. Picked up an '89 K1500 for cheap as a project. Unfortunately my D/D '09 Sierra experienced a steering box failure on a highway... And after going head on into traffic @ 60mph, getting hit, rolling 5 times, and then hit again by a truck... The truck was declared a total loss and I got a nice check from my Insurance...

Having no faith in newer vehicles I decided to make a d/d out of my former project truck.

I'm calling it Project Rehab, b/c I was injured pretty severely in the wreck ( Broken Pelvis, Tibia, Knee, Ankle, torn MCL-- all in left leg, a broken right hand, and a severe concussion that has left me super sensitive to light / loud noise.. .and is causing me some speaking trouble...) So it's going to be my way of mentally / physically getting myself back in shape.. Fixing it up, to fix myself up if you will..

The last 7 weeks I've been bed ridden, pouring over forums and parts websites debating on what I want to do with my new toy..
Having parts show up weekly has been my motivation for walking again haha.

Anyway enough back story... Here are the specs on my K1500;

I noticed that too, had the truck been wrecked before?

Well, it is a side hit and they don't always pop on a side hit.

But, that's one heck of a side hit and I would have expected the sensor to have popped with that much force....
