10 bolt to 14 bolt FF swap

Hi, i just purchased a 10.5 full floating axle out of a 97 chevy 1 ton and im wondering what am i going to need to swap out my 10 bolt in my 1988 chevy half ton ext cab long box?

should bolt right up to the factory mounts if I'm not mistaking.

I believe the pinion length to centerline is longer, but I assume you are lifted so this shouldn't be a big deal. You will need a conversion u-joint. Make sure your ratio is correct.

Don't forget 8-lug wheels! LOL

Yeah, maybe some day. LOL. I'm 14bsf stock now, so I'll have to upgrade eventually.

so if i dont have the money to re gear can i put the 1 ton leaf spring assemblys on my 1/2 ton and have them sitting on the 10 bolt?

yes, you'll need longer u-bolts though
