    Adding more reverse lights?

Cool! I was thinking about getting something like that as well. With that low of draw no relay is needed. I have a couple of cree LED flashlights. Amazing how bright those things are.

    How to remove smoke smell

Problem with surface cleaners is smoke gets everywhere. Call around to some of your local car detailers and find one that does ozone shock treatments. An ozone generator is used for 24hrs in a sealed up car. The ozone kills every odor and any mold. Ozone generators have come done in price...

    Fog light placement

Down toward the bottom of this page http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Cars/1999ChevySuburban4x4/index.htm you will see how this guy wired his lights up. I've got something similar laid out on my bench. Just waiting on a couple of connectors to come in.

    Tow Hitch question.

There's towing and then there is TOWING. My Suburban is pretty much identical. I pull a car to the track on a dolly just fine. About 3500 lbs total. Also have a 20' enclosed cargo trailer that gets all kinds of crap hauled in it. Not sure of weight but probably not more than 4000 lbs. Not...

My interior is blue. I have WAY to many other things to do first before worrying about that.

    Torque app for android.

My old Motorola Droid is dedicated to truck use. I've been thinking about getting a spare dash piece to cut up and try and mount a tablet. Don't really use the radio and can always stream music from a tablet through an amp. Geeks.com usually has some cheap tablets that would work.

    roh no!

When I see something like that I wonder if they hit something and that was the cheapest replacement parts they could find. I would certainly lowball an offer after checking for hidden damage.

    Do name brand really matter?

This is why there are so many brands. Everyone has a different opinion on what constitutes good. I use wix filters on everything and consider fram to be garbage. For most things I pretty much go with whatever part has a lifetime warranty. I have a 3 ring binder for each of my vehicles that...

CB Radios and no idea what im looking for

When it comes to radios start with a good antenna, good ground plane and good coax. A cheap radio with a good antenna will beat a great radio with a cheap antenna any day. For radios the Cobra 29 LTD is pretty much the go-to radio for most people. I just looked and at Amazon they are $80...

    Block heater

My 99 Suburban 5.7l came with one. It was an import from Canada where block heaters are pretty normal. My only complaint is the plug is in the driver side wheel well. Gets pretty nasty there. I put an extension cord on it for the winter so I can plug it in by popping the hood.

    Microfiber towel recomendations

The costco ones are fine. They work better if you remove the tags before using. I've also bought some from http://www.poorboysworld.com/ I pretty much use their polishes exclusively any more so it is easier to add a few to my order.

    Giving up on aftermarket lights

1badgmc: My suburban is the 4x4 clone of yours. Same exterior color, same interior color. I have the 60/40 bench instead of buckets. So far I have not found the corner lights like the ones in the picture that fit. I don't want clear or smoke.

Big 3 + Dual Battery Setup Question

This is the relay you want: http://www.boatstoreusa.com/electrical-supplies/chargers-inverters/afi-710125a-voltage-sensitive-relay-125amp/ This is an automatic relay that will disengage the starter battery when the engine is not running. It senses the charging voltage. If you want to use...

    Giving up on aftermarket lights

Ug. I have a 1999 Chevy Suburban. The style in the picture is what I want but have been unable to find another set. I want amber lenses. Everything else I've found has been clear or smoked amber. Vendor told me refunds only if they are defective, not if they are the wrong part. So they...

    Giving up on aftermarket lights

Bought headlights. Had to struggle to get them in, one the adjusters popped off when I tried to adjust the light. I have it back together now with a bunch of epoxy. Hopefully that gets it installed. Bought corner lights. Don't fit. Apparently there are two different sizes? Think...

This is about as close to the perfect suburban for me. Only thing different is I want a diesel. I really like the hummer wheels with chevy caps. Wish they made those in 6 lug. http://www.mcsmk8.com/99-SUB/99-SUB.html

    Black Brake Fluid

There is no visual method to know if fluid is bad. It does discolor on its own. BUT, even clean looking fluid can be bad. Heat is the number one killer. Towing can kill it pretty quickly as well as city driving. If you don't know when it was done last you should flush it. Bad fluid will...
