They’ve done it for 30 years without issue.

This is a new trend I’m seeing. People doing flips and not notching. I don’t agree with it. Seems like a great way to damage axles and your frame.
To be fair, some trucks don't need it. You can flip a square and it won't hit unless you're loaded heavy. I'm looking at Kxx gen trucks and the same is true for them and NNBS trucks until you get more than a 5 or 6 inch drop.
I'll notch whatever I get anyways because moar lowah, but it's not a requirement.

The dead giveaway to add a C notch should be "the axle slamming the frame". Something tells me, physically, that's NOT a good thing. :33:

Good to know. I guess I was meaning I’m seeing it as a trend on these trucks. I saw it on FB all the time. People act like they are proud for doing it the wrong way.

I’m with you - notch is mo betta.

To think of all the time, effort, sweat, burned arm hairs, money wasted on cutoff wheels.. I could've just dropped my trucks and not bothered with notching. Shame on me. Hell, on the latest project it would've saved the massive amount of hassle chopping out the old gooseneck mount. What a PITA.

****, let’s just weld the axle to the frame. Who needs suspension.
When I was .. 20? 21? I had a '54 Chevy 210 2dr sedan with cut front coils, and a whole whack of leafs pulled from the rear packs. It sat on the bump stops, and had ground the tailpipe off at about a 45° angle from dragging on driveway ramps. It rode like crap but I had fun driving it. Shaved doors, frenched taillights, extra teeth in the grille, it was 50's style. No A/C, Mexican blanket seat cover, non-working vacuum wipers replaced with non-working electric conversion and a lot of RainX..

Then we grow up a little bit and dig things that ride and work a bit better.
