To the OP, yes a h pipe will take the pop and cackle out and is good for performance when running true duals.

To 93Chevy- a CAI does nothing regarding exhaust sound or tone in anyway shape or form, also you need to get rid of that stock y pipe you are running, its negating any gains you have made with your headers

Ya ive been told to get rid of my y pipe but i was also told that true duals on these trucks rob horsepower as well because the stock heads dont flow enough to justify needing a true dual system.

Its all about pipe size, true duals are just as good as a single 3" setup, but on a stock engine 2.25" pipes is all you need along with a x or h pipe, most of what you hear is crap, use that time to search and get the info that is correct.

new mufflers are ALWAYS quieter then some that are older. If spintechs are glasspack inside they'll burn out and get louder.

it could also be the lenght of the muffler its self, it is common for guys around here to get the crakle, thats because they run a short cherry bomb glass pack, where as the trucks that are done right withand xpipe or h pipe and a longer muffler wont crakel at all, its amazing how much difference it makes

Exactly, you dont even need a y or h pipe with the right muffler. The spintech 9000's are 9" long where the 6000's are 12" long Mine souns like pure sex no crackle just a nice growl and beast while idling.

if your running duels then put a X pipe in and that will stop the pop and make it sound alot better... but headers will help ALOT with the sound your looking for... also the 2" pipes before the cats are killing you..

if it was me i would have steped up the head pipes to 2 1/2 to the cats and done the rest in 3" with a X.. then came out the side right in front of the right rear wheel....
