Today I installed a cold air intake. Man it was an instant success.

I ordered headers and a new y- pipe. Once I get those on I'm getting a cat back exhaust (I'm going to run it like dual exhaust though because I may later convert it. Right now I'm having trouble finding a local exhaust shop who will mess with swapping to dual)

I got the tranny cooler installed. I didn't like the "mounting equipment" that came with it. Basically 4 zip ties that you feed through the ac condenser. I made my own metal brackets. I intend to make something a little more professional looking later but it works and doesn't look too bad.

I always make my own brackets anymore. I had one bust loose and rub a hole into the radiator once.

Looks great.

Where do you live that they don't want to do dual exhaust?

Virginia.

I think basically they were saying they would only do from the cat back. I'm going to find another shop to install 2 cats and then take it in for an exhaust. If it's already there I'm 95% sure they will install the exhaust I want.

Alot of exhaust shops are a real bunch of jerks for various reasons. They rarely just want to do what you explicitly explain to them you want before you drop it off for four hours.

This shop does amazing work for very good prices though. They did a dual exhaust on my 73 el Camino 19 years ago and it's still working with no leaks. They just don't want to alter a vehicle from one cat to 2 I think.

i may be fine with a dual "cat back" exhaust. I'm putting headers on and I can get a nice wider y tube for them. It's a 305 anyways. Anything I do is going to be better than what I have. I just need to get more info. I might be able to drive to North Carolina and have it done too. I don't mind doing that.
