Welcome. Clean Truck. Have you considered bags? That's a lot of drop for static. Every one of the trucks in those pictures have messed up front fenders from turning. Seems like it would be a huge pain in the ass to drive those with the wheels tucked while trying to turn.

Kid super low static rides like crap 99% of time. Then again most are hack jobs in the first place.

this is true but when done right you can have a decent riding truck. my 93 rode like crap on a 4/6, but with the right stuff my 97 rides like a dream.

BTW I'm not on Vortex

good. then I dont have to treat you like you are. Didnt mean to go off on you.

Welcome to the site bro! Where in the RGV you at? I'm from Weslaco but living in McAllen now. BTW that first black step side is got to be one of the sexiest obs's ever, and I dont even like lowered trucks lol
im from edinburg.
You have no idea of his wheel/tire specs his suspension components or what hes driving the truck for and the first thing you say is that his whole plan is ****, nice guy. must be a vortex guy.

welcome kevinRGV loving the stepside whats the planned wheel size on this beast?! Ive got a 6/6 on my stepside with smaller than stock tires and I ride better than stock and can drive anywhere so dont let this tool discourage you. what color are you thinking of?

im thinking of adding some 20x8.5 up front with a 2-3 inch lip, and 22x10 with a 6 inch lip. and as far as color, i might go white and when i add cowl hood, the scoop will be black, or the truck red and the scoop black

I don't know man, some spoiled kid is gonna get a nice new truck from mommy and daddy. Seriously, happens almost every year. You probably already know the people in your class like that. Not trying to trash your goal, I was thinking something similar when I got my truck, but between restoring it and other kids getting newer trucks.....mine was just another old truck.

Good to see you have some plans though. My advice? Save up for the bags, if that's the best way to go (I don't know too much about lowering trucks, never really been my thing). Because IF it does ride hard, then you're going to be kind of stuck with a truck that no one will want to ride in (Especially ladies. Trust me, my A/C went out, and it makes a big difference). If you know enough to make it ride decent, go for it! Just don't rush your decision because you want to get something done. If there's a better way to do something, it's best to just save the money and wait. It's tough, but you'll save tons of money in the end (instead of buying something, not liking it, selling it for half what you paid for it, then buying what you wanted to start off with). That's just my point of view though, if you're set on a static drop, more power to you, there's TONS of guys on here with more than enough knowledge to help you out.

thats true about spoiled kids having new trucks. but one thing for sure is that what matters is the trucks potential. an obs fixed up all cool is way better than a new truck all stock. it might not be the best truck ever, but atleast i have truck that i got myself not from mommy and daddy
