Searching for led lens optics, found this - interesting stuff! I know very little actual terms, but when I modded my 6" off road lights I noticed that the beam pattern would change with how far in or out the bulb was in the housing. Granted they are HID bulbs, so there is no real "beam pattern", I decided to mount them 1/2" out of the reflector to spread the center spot a bit.

That's some good work. So you have roughly the same setup? I know that size led lamp/pod is bright having installed them for backup lights on a few vehicles but how is the high beam? Good you put distance wise?

I haven't had them on a vehicle yet. They won't go out as far as spot light duallys. I believe JP has flood lights in that set up.

Ah gotcha. I'd imagine you would want a narrow beam pattern led lamp for highs and wide beam for lows. I'll have to just fork over the cash for the leds and start tinkering with some housings
