So, what else are we needing on gmt400.com?

I don't think it would hurt. And more members. I love this site but I can't really ask questions when I have them about my 02. So I have to go the other forums an have to deal with douches an hopefully someone will help or dig around Google for hours. I think it would benefit. Jus make it completely seperate from any of the 400 threads.

just make a thread for your question and specify that it's not a 400 in the title. I asked a question about my friend's Honda accord.

I disagree, we don't need an 800 section. It will become a jumbled mess of topics an then everyone would want 800 specific engine forum, then an 800 specific suspension forum an on an on. IMO it would just be better to start a new forum called gmt800.com....

I agree this is gmt400.com for 88-98's i do like the 800's but there are other forums for them, if there was an 800 section the forum would become a mess

I agree with both statements

I agree, 100%, i come on here knowing 99% of the topics are on GMT400's, if we start having people show up with GMT800's, things are going to get confusing, cause alot of the years overlap (99-02 especially), it just causes utter confusion at times.

I think what would be cool to see here is a forum setup similar to the 67-72chevytruck.org site. That site was originally created only for 67-72 chevy trucks but in the early 2000s in spun off an opended a section on 60-66 trucks an the so on an so forth it encompasses all 1947-present day chevy trucks. Now the 67-72 forums are all there like the specific 67-72 sections like we have here for instance. But the other sections are year related such as if you have a 65 chevy or a 95 c1500 you post in the 60-66 forum for the 65 an the 88-98 forum for the 95 but if you have an engine question no matter the engine (unless LS which their is a LS side but people post in the engine related side) you post there.

But with doing a job of revamping a whole forum to be like that one which has been around since 1997 it would take time and alot of man power.

Maybe just start a forum for projects that aren't GMT 400 related. Maybe try an experiment like on the 67-72 site but we'd need alot more moderators.

But at that point, what makes us stand out from GMFS and FSC?, nothing really.

Also, just to point out, Shaggy also owns GMFS, so it really wouldn't make sense for him to make this site a clone of his other.

67-72 site has a good deal going on, cause they have all the classic's covered, no one else really does that.

GMT400's are in a weird category, too new to be classic, too old to be current.

Oh wow I never knew shaggy owned GMFS. That makes a lil more sense now tbh. Why make another clone because then they'll compete with one another.

Your right 67-72 site has a really good deal going on there covering all the classics an late model. That site still gets more traffic through the boards that cover 87 trucks back than 88-up. Still none the less its a good site thats massive but has a big operation moderating it.

GMT 400s are in an odd category really. I mean just now the first of these trucks are hitting 25-26yrs old since new but still not old enough to be classics almost yet they're younger brothers from the mid late 90s trucks are still considered "late model". I think of these trucks as the last great chevy trucks built. Has the old first gen small block an simple yet smart also. One thing makes me mad on the 67-72 site sometimes is how some guys bad mouth GMT 400s an I tell them out have you owned one or anything? An most of the time its no or they just say I don't like it. So I come here for my 400 stuff hahaha.

A good thing that might be good is to organise the engine section here by TBI/carbed/vortec fuel injection. Its sorta organized but if you wanna search for something specific you gotta hunt.

Could have this site focus more on late model chevy trucks rather than go back to the classics since GMFS prolly covers those too.

EDIT: didn't realize the engine section is pretty organized already haha.

Exactly, plus there is other GM truck forums, just not as popular as GMFS and FSC

i use 67-72 quite often, i find their forum layout to be abit dated, but there is alot of good quality info over there!

They really are, i have had many 400's, my '94 being my baby, always felt weird taking it to local shows, which are mostly classic/muscle cars, but they are getting up there in age, and the ones you do see, are either screwed or mint! sadly its usually the first. I have always liked these trucks, i think they are the next 67-72! and the last GOOD trucks GM made, GMT900's are just crap! my ex had a couple, build quality was just not there!

Organizing is key! It is pretty organized!

all in all, i have always liked this forum, i came on here pretty early on in its life, i remember when i would have to wait days just for someone else to post! it sure has sprung up and quite quickly! i have always liked how its like a family, everyone knows everyone and most of the posts are quality posts! i find myself not going to FSC as much as i used to, for this exact reason.

I would love to start a 67-72 (C10) forum as 67-72chevytruck.org is pretty active and just not sure if it would take off.

As most know, I own

www.Gmfullsize.com - All years, but basically most members are nbs - nnbs owners.
www.GMSquarebody.com - For the 73 - 87 GM Trucks.
www.TruckModCentral.com - For all trucks - Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Nissan, and Jeep.
www.OilBurners.net - All old school ford, chevy, and dodge diesel trucks
www.TahoeYukonForum.com - For all gen Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade
www.TahoeForum.com - Same thing as above.

I did start www.HDTruckForum.com but it never took off.

I would be fine with starting a gmt800 forum if alot of you don't like GMFS or even FSC. GMFS does have alot of rough edges, and starting another forum that has a clean setup like gmt400 could work. Not sure though.
