That metalflake is gonna sparkle in the Arizona sun
Probably huh? I know I need a fresh paint job but, That's a lot of moolah if you don't do it yourself, and I hate body work, LOL. Here it is with a 20 year old MAACO single stage special the PO had done. It used to be Orange Peel Blue.

Only bad thing about getting it painted.....then you'll decide the grille needs changing, the bumpers need rechroming, you want to change the wheel and tire combo, etc......that's a slippery slope LOL. But it's your truck, so do what YOU want to it. As the song goes,"if you've got the money, they've got the time "......
I know that's not the exact lyrics, just changed them a little so it fits better with the situation

At least you guys don't have to do any rust repair.
Yeah, it's clean but has a couple dents, or small dimples.

Or the rabbit hole I went down with the engine, ha ha. With the $2300 "Stage 2" trans I have over $8K stuck in under the hood, all the labor was done by my son and me or, it would have been a lot more. But it was, still is, a great learning curve.

I keep thinking what's next I wanna do - maybe a 2/4 drop (or more), a Detroit Locker (already put in 4.11s in it), Tonneau cover, tear it down and install a roller cam instead of my flat tappet, etc. Or just do nothing and let it be my garage queen.

well here's my 2 metal problem children. The Burb is in the shade, sort of, catching a break from DD duty. The blue oval is parked in front of the 6 wheeled house LOL. Other than ac that doesn't work too well, it's not bad for a Ford. Gotta get a shop manual for it so if I have to work on it I can see what to do. It's way different than the GM stuff I'm used to that's for sure!

I'm going to put this in daily truck pictures but if someone feels it should be moved, be my guest. Friend of mine just sent me these pictures of his latest "find".
Square body home made winch truck, 454, probably grandma 4 speed, obviously hasn't moved in a while under its own power. But it does have a tachometer gauge cluster! PM me if you're interested, and I will give you his contact information. He's slightly south of Conroe, Texas which is north of Houston. Thanks!

ps: he didn't say what $$ he wanted to get out of it. Probably doesn't have much in it though cause it's how he does things. He is a country boy for sure, builds hot rods and fixes stuff. Worked on my Burb before, did a good job.

just talked to him, he said the truck has a 20,000 pound Ramsey winch on it, in good condition. The cab is bad but the rest is better than it looks. It's a 73 with a good VIN and he has the title.

My brother told me " after all the jokes we made about "shovel nose" Fords and now y'all bought one?" I said "it's cheap and has less issues than the Burb." And it's cheaper than fixing the ac on the Burb too, but now its ac isn't working well either, but all 4 doors open from the inside.....
