would be cool to have an engine driven one.
I like the sound of that.
but I like my ice cold R12 AC, so... that needs to stay.
I wonder if there is a way to get one that would take the place of the "smog pump" though.....

remember, trucks don't have one because emission laws were more laxed for trucks in the 90s, however, this motor was also stuffed into impalas (cop cars).... but that's another topic... point is, if they made a little pump for that bracket kit, you'd be set... though I HIGHLY doubt they do. so, back to square one:

buying a 12v compressor with balls...

this one
takes 10 min each tire....

its the only one ive seen with 2 cylinders....

like I said, this one does work "well "

My york was just added on.. If you can.fabricate your own bracket you can pretty much put it anywhere. I still have my AC compressor and it all.still works I just have an auxiliary pump for my air ride. Also I can fill tires like a champion. It's actually really handy to basically have a portable air compressor where ever I go!

This was in the early stages of bracket building... It's done now and quite a but different but you get the idea

What Dean explained is exactly what I was talking about. Not converting your A/C to an air compressor, but adding on an engine driven compressor.

Its called adding an EDC... just look up any Jeep forum, or any offroad forum at that... A York is an A.C. compressor, you add it to your motor as a compressor.. Off roaders have been
using them for tires and tools for years and theres tons of How To on doing it. They also have alot of How To on adding a welder to your motor.. all in all... your not converting your air conditioner into a compressor.
