yes they are. 97-03 junk. i had a 97 f150 4.6 auto. main bearings rattled like hell and transmison was all kinds of screwed up and the 4x4 worked when it wanted to and not when needed. it was a POS. i traded that for the truck in my avatar. done pretty good i think lol

yea after 1996, JUNK! i loved my old 1996, wish i didnt sell it.

The "good" ford 1/2 ton chassis died along with the 300-6. Except I think a few 300's made it into 97 models, probably just leftovers.

What I didn't get was why replace the 300-6 with a fuel-efficient V6....that pissed me off to be honest.
