I'm Awesome
Just thought I'd share a happy thought. The keyless remote for our "new" 99 Suburban had seen better days. It mostly worked, but the clip part of the housing that held the two halves together had broken up so it was really only held together by rubber and dirt.. I looked up the p/n on the back of it, and found while a whole new unit was not terribly expensive, you can buy just the plastic housing (with rubber button pad) for $6.
The plastic is noticibly less "finished" than the OEM one (no additional instructions stamped on interior etc), but it fits the electronic portion perfectly, and more importantly stays together.
Great $6 upgrade if you have a functional but damaged remote
