k2500 k3500 front differential

I have a 97 k2500 i was wondering if a front differential from an 88 k3500 willwork i know they list two differnt diffs but whats the difference? Thank you.

iirc, as long as they're both 9.25"(8 lug wheels) front diffs they should swap.

I think they will but the actuator is different. And i cant find one that will plug and play on the 88-92 front diffs
