Hello everyone my names AJ and I have a Black 98 ECSB that's blocked, cranked, sitting on 285's, G80, 350, blah blah blah some old cheap, reliable power. I just turned 20 and I am a college student. I'm originally from Madison, NC just north of Greensboro close to those VA boys. I have had this truck for 2 years almost. My first truck was a 1985 305 RCLB and that's where I fell in love with trucks. I spend so much times on these forums and appreciate all the information here. My transmission went last year in January and I was able to rebuild my transmission all by myself thanks to this site and others like it. Not only that but I had been losing a little coolant but I could never find the leak. I had a rubber cap on the back of my radiator that would only leak when I was in higher RPMs so I would never see it leak. One I had found that as the leak I replaced the cap and I assume that built up enough pressure to blow the deteriorated intake gaskets within a few miles. I could tell the motor wasn't quite right because the idle was off. When I pulled the oil stick I knew immediately what needed to be done. I replaced the gaskets by myself and have yet to have a problem since. The truck has 130,000 miles and I paid $3,400. This is the nicest vehicle i've ever owned so I really love my truck. My only other ride was a 1986 Ford Escort GT 1.9 HO 5 speed. Lots of fun in high school cause it was basically a go cart with doors.
Im in the process of painting my interior black because the brown has always seemed tacky to me. Im on break from school so I got bored and finally started. I also have a black headliner 70% of the way up and trimmed. I wish mine had come with the grey interior. I want a body lift before next fall and I have all summer to work for it. I'm looking for a set of stockish 15 inch rims so when it comes time for new tires or 35's I will have more options. Also I like the classy styling because my first truck had those style rims with beauty band and center cap.
