Probably both shorter and more narrow.

Correct. They'll be both shorter and narrower. The first number in a tire size is the width of the tread in millimeters. So, you have a 235mm (9.25") wide tire and a 225mm (8.85") wide tire. The second number is the sidewall height expressed as a percentage of the tread width. So, you have 60% of 235mm (141mm = 5.55") and 60% of 225mm (135mm = 5.31").

Me personally, I'd stick with the 235/60.
