96 tahoe

I recently put a new transmission in my 96 tahoe. Now it taked it a few minutes to crank up when its cold. I go to give it gas and it shuts off. Once it does crank and runs for a few minutes or i get to where im going. I can cut it off and it will crank right back up. I was tols it could be my crank shaft position sensor. Im here asking if there were any other issues that could cause the same thing
