1997 C2500 Motor generation

What generation motor is a 1997 350 from a C2500, I'm looking at getting a cam kit for it and don't know what all the differences are between gen 1/2/&3 I've been told that it's a Gen 1 and Gen 3 and I have no idea, thanks

That would be considered a Gen 1 small block.
Gen 2 is the LT motors out of the 90s Vettes, Camaros/Firebirds, and the Caprice/Impala SS.
Gen 3 is the non AFM LS motors.
Gen 4 is the AFM & VVT LS motors.
Gen 5 is the new LT motors.
