    HVAC Door Housing Parts

The mode selector wasn't working on my new-to-me Suburban. I discovered the actuator tucked up into the dash and the bracket that it's supposed to be attached to AND the lever that the motor turns are broken. The GM part number for the bracket is 3091061. I can't seem to find a part number for...

    Troubleshooting HVAC Issues

@slow_c1500 @rockR67 @GoToGuy Great feedback! I shifted and started fixing some other issues. I'll download those manuals and take a look at the mode actuator this evening.

    1995 454 Baselining - High Idle

I recently got a 1995 Suburban 2500 with a 113k miles on the original 454. I've never had one of these OBD1 vehicles. Is there a scanner that folks recommend? I'm trying to figure out a high idle issue. Idles smooth, just a little high at around 950-1000 RPM. I tested for leaks with propane and...

@Archaic2021 Were you able to get the lower cover off without removing the dash?

    Troubleshooting HVAC Issues

I'm about to start working on the HVAC issues on my new to me 1995 Suburban 2500. This is my first GMT400, though I grew up in these and GMT800's. I'm hoping someone can help point me in the right direction. It appears that most of the A/C components under the hood have been replaced. The blower...

Factory White - Single Stage or 2 Stage?

I'm looking at an ex-gov 2500 Suburban that's out of state for me. It's white - the ad says "original factory clear coat". And there is in fact clear coat peeling in multiple locations just on the driver side. I always thought the white on these was a single stage - meaning that this one was...

    Does 2500 Suburban Feel Heavy

    You’d prefer the 5.7 over the 7.4?

    Does 2500 Suburban Feel Heavy

How big of a difference in fuel mileage? I’m used to 11-13. And was expecting that from both the 1500 or 2500.

    Does 2500 Suburban Feel Heavy

Good to know. That can be fixed with different springs or removing a leaf or 2. I would definitely rather have the 4L80.

    Does 2500 Suburban Feel Heavy

Our 2008 Suburban 2500 seems to have a lot more body roll. More pucker-factor when you have to brake hard. Going over bumps it feels rough. I drive a 2002 CCSB duramax and it feels much better than the Suburban.

    Does 2500 Suburban Feel Heavy

I grew up with GMT800 2500 Suburbans and trucks and we currently have a GMT900 2500 Suburban. The GMT900 feels huge and heavy. More so than my dad’s GMT800. I’m in the market for a GMT400 Suburban as our family camping rig. Nothing more than mild off road - no rock crawling. I will rarely tow...
