    Rear brakes finally done. cleaned drums, hardware ,wheel climbers and rear brake lines replaced. Only 7 cans of brake clean used to get everything cleaned up. Now it looks anorexic with the c&c axle with just 1 wheel on. but no reason to getnit all dressed up just to tear it apart soon.

    while pressure washing, more of the yellow decide to come out to play. Seat turned a much lighter shad of brown with a little high pressure persuasion also.

    Pulled the intake to check out the nastiness. Surprisingly wasn't real bad.so a little clean up and time to reinstall.

    When I drained the old oil out I had to heat the oil pan to get it to drain out. Thick like molasses.

    No 4 exhaust push rod was stuck holding the valve open. Couple quick taps and freed it up. That was causing a heck of a miss. Now to clean it up a bit and check drivers side.

    Yes those are giant head gaskets. Sbc and flathead ford. Im.sure with enough pressure washing the white will.fall.off and the yellow will show back up.

    As afr as stretching the wheelbase, it looks like I could go 12" and leave the frame alone. Slide the spring mounts back, reattach and build new shock mounts. . Lengthened drive shaft and ebrake cable. . Brake line looks as though I could rotate the tee 180° and reconnect.

    1 cab corner replaced. Will have to wait till it warms up to body finish it though. surprisingly fornthe rough life this truck has had. Corners were the only rot. . Well except for the interior, and it's all TRASHED! Needs everything , dash, door panels,seat padding and cover and a/c...

    Thanks. I was noticing the bed mounts not there. That should have been my first clue. Did not know about the wheelbase length issue though. Contemplating stretching it anyway. That's just another reason to do it.

    Thanks for the info. Frame is 34" out to out from just behind the cab back. So I am to assume a regular cab dually bed won't work?
