    1993 Shortbox Build

    I (my shop, not me) just replaced the pump and sending unit on my 93, but the inside of the tank was flawless, and minimal rust on the outside, which was treated. Scope the inside of the tank with a camera, if it looks good, save the $ for other parts.

    I bought her in Oct 2021. She was very well cared for with only one owner from 96 to 21, BUT she was an Iowa truck all those years. Her owner managed to keep her from the scourge of rust all those years. She has 89k miles and is a true survivor. All original except he had to replace the engine...

    Oh for sure. I know 90s is still too young to really be as desirable. I wanted an 87 but I can't afford one of those I'm totally okay with losing to better trucks. I'm not okay with all the real trucks present losing to vehicles that aren't even trucks!

    Thanks! My truck is Annie and the GTO is Jolene. I've put Annie in two shows (paid to enter) and she's been thoroughly insulted both times. First time an El Camino won 80s/90s truck. Then just a couple weeks ago a 2006 SSR won best 80s and up truck. IN TEXAS people are voting these nonsense...

    Thanks! I'm starting to think that between hassle + cost of refinishing I would be better off ordering a new one. Only benefit to recoating would be keeping the original part on the truck.
