    I might would be concerned with the leaf spring area and a good welder could make it safe in my opinion. Not all welders will touch frames for liability issues. I would take a hammer with a point on the end and really peck around good on the rust. You may or may not like the results you get but...

    I have a 97 Silverado 5.7. I forget how I figured the problem out but on mine it was the Fuel Pressure Regulator. It is on passenger side of the Intake system. It was random and did seem at certain rpm's.

    I broke my hand a couple of weeks ago so am doing the one hand pictures. I have used every cleaner under the sun for degreasing. Easy Off works best for me. Wish I would of had a before pic. I use it only on metal. Got all of my leaks fixed. Yea!!!! Getting frame cleaned and painted soon.
