4l80 jumping back and forth 3/4

The 4L80 uses solenoids to shift. I'd verify they are working and also check the harness from the solenoids to the PCM. When I bought my 94 it wouldn't shift at all. I build a little stand alone box with toggle switches and plugs for the transmission and a cig lighter plug to feed it 12V. That...

Another 14 bolt sf 9.5" Thread

Here's some helpful links on determining what 14 bolt came in what body style of GMT 400 https://lugnut4x4.com/axles/14-bolt-axle-identification/ http://billavista.com/tech/Articles/14-Bolt_Bible/index.html

Unable to get into 4WD Low

My 94 Chevy 3500 has a new "issue". On the weekend we were pulling downed trees and I was doing so in 4WD Low. While pulling a tree (likely about 2000 lb) I heard a bit of a bang and the truck wouldn't move. I shut off the truck and restarted, placed the trans in Neutral and tried to re-engage...

    94 Chevy k1500 blazer won’t crank

I'm having the same issue with my 94 3500 5.7 truck. New starter/solenoid. Took it out today. Started fine, went to the dump to drop off a bunch of crap and the truck wouldn't start on the scales going out. Not even a click. Checked my connections and they looked ok. Had to get a push off the...

    Crazy Cluster - Need Ideas

I had a similar issue. My guages and lights would flicker and the truck would hesitate- only when driving. Found both ground straps rotted off. Replaced and it's all good

    Surging idle on cold start

My 94 K3500 5.7 does the exact same thing when cold. Feels like an old carbed vehicle that hasn't had time to warm up properly. I've yet to find the cause.

Fender and Inner - Do you install as one unit?

I'm about to replace the fenders and inner fenders on my 94 Chevy 3500. I removed them as one unit. Would it be easier to install them both as a unit already bolted together or install the inner first and then the fender? Thanks Todd

Any idea what this is clamped to my rear axle?

It is a mystery. I guess after 27 years anything is possible.

Any idea what this is clamped to my rear axle?

Interesting. My truck was originally a cab and chassis so maybe there was some sort of sway bar. Would love to see a photo of the setup.

Any idea what this is clamped to my rear axle?

94 Chevrolet 3500. This is clamped onto the right rear axle tube. Is it some sort of girdle for strength? Thanks Todd

    Frozen Starter Issue

You might be right that it's just the cold. Is this a sign of a bad starter?

    Frozen Starter Issue

It's been fairly cold here in PEI lately (-14c at night). We had about 15" of snow last week. I plowed out our lane and lot next to our property.. That night we had some heavy winds from the west and a -22C windchill. The next day the truck wouldn't crank- just a light "click". Since the battery...

    Lets's talk Corrosion, a.k.a. Rust!

I live on an Island in the Atlantic in Eastern Canada. The roads are salted heavily in winter and the air is salty. We had wind chimes on the back of our house. One day I noticed they didn't chime anymore. I found the chimes on the ground- the metal chain had rotted thru from the salt air! I...

Yes. So many times you read a long thread and never find out what the fix was. Thanks for telling us!

New Door Shell, or Just Buy Whole Used Door?

Does anyone know what a factory regular cab door weighs (empty- just the door)? I'm trying to determine if I can get one shipped via Canada Post.

    14 bolt rear question

Someone a few posts back asked what "Posi" meant. It's short for POSItive traction differential.

    Water Leak Passenger Side

I think my leak is underneath where the fresh air tube pokes through. There's a foam seal that apparently fails as they age. This is the video I'm referring to:

    Water Leak Passenger Side

So I was at the glass shop today and had a look at the cowl while the trim was removed. There's what appears to be a plate on top with sealant around it. I saw a Youtube video where a guy removed this and had easy access to the area underneath. We scraped at the sealant and it appeared this...

    Water Leak Passenger Side

My 94 3500 has a water leak on the passenger side. If I pour water on the windshield it almost immediately starts dripping near the blower motor. I have one of those fibre optic cameras and stuck it behind the blower motor area. It appears it's coming through the heater box. I can't get a good...

Trying to install 8 bolt center caps on my stock rims

Well I went the hillbilly route and notched two of the caps. They fit nicely now! When I find proper GM rims I'll spring for a pair of new caps. Here's the truck in all it's two tone glory with the caps and rings on Next year she'll get blown apart and painted all red.

    Seatbelt differences- who knew?

That's not my issue. Nothing is stuck the buckle. My replacement belt will not even go in the buckle because the blade is too wide. I need to find a matching buckle now or grind the blade on my replacement to fit which doesn't guarantee it will work
