454SS front brake swap
I probably have the light duty brakes then, my truck originally came with a 4.3. I have a set of SS spindles so it shouldnt be a problem to convert.- ZZ3GMC

454SS front brake swap
I checked out the Advance Auto site and the calipers are cheap. $19.99 plus a $15 core. If I remember right, the extended cab 1/2 tons had a different spindle than the RC 1/2s. I could be wrong though.- ZZ3GMC

454SS front brake swap
Has anyone done a 454SS front brake swap? From what I have read, the 454 SS uses 1 ton calipers and I will need to use the SS spindles (which I have). Im guessing that I would need the dust shields also, unless mine can be used. I believe the rotors are the same. My brother has a 90 SS and his...- ZZ3GMC

I just finished this. Its a KX500 engine in a much more modern 04 KX250 chassis. It took about 3 years mainly because of time and money. Set up for enduros. I also have a bunch of vintage dirtbike projects.- ZZ3GMC
