Frame rust removal and painting to do's and what not to do.

Following this, I have a 1990 GMC SLE K1500 that I am doing the same thing on now. Thanks for the good Ideas...

    Pitman arm - steering gear

If your going to replace the pitman arm anyway, don't waste a lot of time with a puller and fighting it to get it off. I just cut a slot with my die grinder on the side of it being careful not to hit the steering splined shaft to relieve the pressure and pop it off. Sometime they are on there...

93 ignition and door lock cylinders on a 95 k1500

If the body of the cylinders fit in the steering column and the door handles the same as the original set then it doesn't matter what key you use. Chevy didn't start using transponder keys until 1997.

    TrailMaster Lift Help

I am getting a factory bed and tailgate. If I can find good factory parts for the rest of the body I will use them, but living in MI it's hard to find any body parts that aren't completely eaten by rust. The bed is actually being sent up from southern Indiana as I couldn't find one in decent...

    Rear end issue

There is no adjustment on the front disc brakes short of putting an aftermarket proportioning valve in and changing the bias to the front. When you put on the new front pads did you change the rotors or use the worn rotors? Did you scuff up the existing rotors if you used them to allow the new...

    TrailMaster Lift Help

Hello, I recently acquired a 1990 GMC Sierra SLE SCSB with a 4" Trailmaster lift P/N C44 on it. Took me a while to figure out what was on there, as they evidently don't make this lift anymore. I have worked on older pre-87 trucks before but this is my first 400 model, not to familiar with the...

    Hello from MI

Just purchased a 1990 K1500 regular cab short bed to restore and looking forward to getting some good ideas and information. I just completed rebuilding a 2007 Harley Road King from the frame up and a few years ago did a 1982 Chevy short bed step side with a wood bed. In the past I have redone...
