    The egr valve seemed to be stuck I finally freed it by hand. I took it off and pressed the diaphragm in and covered the hole but it wouldn't hold.

    No I didn't use a timing light, I don't have one or a vacuum gauge. I can get a video of it running. The smoke smells more like gas. I haven't put the shifter boot on yet and it really smells like gas on the inside while it's running.

    I checked it at cold then let the truck warm up a little and checked to see if it changed. It changed as it warmed so I was thinking it's ok. I'll probably just replace it anyway later on. Found these on here I think.

    Checked the temp sensor with a meter, seems to be working. Probably have to let someone more experienced take a look at it. Thanks for the help anyway.

    I agree that would help. But if you can't find any ratings then it'd probably not be a great idea to grab some 4k watt amp and throw at them. My audiobahn is good for around 800 watts and I've got like 300 going to it. I don't want or need to wake up the neighborhood just add a little depth...

    While I tend to lean more towards name brand stuff, I picked up a cheap boss amp maybe 8 years ago. It still works good and no problems outta it. I wouldn't use their decks though.

    Thanks for the suggestion, I may run these awhile or may not. Haven't really decided yet. When I do I'm gonna go with the lmc and bring it back to more of a factory look. These may end up behind the grille like a light bar or in a bumper.

    I plan on either having someone look at it or just get the diagnostic tools later on. Just trying to get ideas in case it's just something easy and learning more about it as I go.

    I read that also, but does it effect the gauge at all? My gauge seems to be working fine. Is there anyway to test it or just buy a new one. Edit: found the resistance chart in another thread, will give it a check tomorrow.

    When it's first cranked and idled up it runs fine, none of the gas smell and slight smoke. If I turn the a.c. on it really bogs it down.

    I put a new fuel pump in it, twice, and it has good gas. I've got it up to operating temp but haven't driven it at highway speeds.

    I'm having a problem with mine but I think it's just from the bulb not fitting good and making contact. Sockets are packed with old grease and I'm hoping that's the problem. Wiggling them around they come on fine.

    Spray pattern looked good and disconnected the map sensor and it ran a little worse.

    5.7 is idling pretty bad and smells like gas out of the exhaust. No check engine light and the last time I changed the plugs they smelled like gas. Any common problems with these or any suggestions on what to check out. Tia.

    I do like the quad lights. I've got these set up using harnesses and controlling them with the factory switch. I'll check out the lmc housing. After hitting a raccoon in my car and numerous close calls with deers in it I can't take horrible lighting anymore.

    A.c. was stuck on defrost so I took of the actuator by the gas pedal and took it apart to check the gears and put it back together. Now it works but only works on feet or defrost. When switching to vent it goes to feet. I was kinda assuming that if the actuator was bad it wouldn't move at all...
