Finally got myself a GMT400, '94 C1500

Just a bit of a 5 AM curiosity question

So I was trying to sleep, but I couldn't stop thinking about this, I want to get myself a 4th gen 2500 for towing, and was planning on tracking down one with a 350 for a cheaper purchase price then swap in a 454 later for the extra torque. However now my question is, would it be better to source...
