Two more whimsical questions. I'm sure my name's by now

First question, my heater doesn't seem to be actuating from mid, floor , defrost. It's stuck on mid... anybody have any tips and tricks for accomplishing this one? Next..... I have a short, my left brake light will come in and out. I've also noticed that if it's out, and I engage my right...

Electrical - Anyone make sense of this..? where you at Skylark

No progress on the battery light, however my hot start issues have went away. My last problem is an extreme flex plate chatter. Originally thought it was the transmission I put in used but my fears were quieted.

Electrical - Anyone make sense of this..? where you at Skylark

Well I rerouted everything. The main ground is now on the number two intake bolt. The braided copper cable was cut in half but I'm mended it with a splicer for now and attached it, the firewall ground just kind of runs into the the harness. Can't tell much there. My truck is firing right up but...

this may be dumb but 4l60E in 1992

Alright I answered my own question. Although it was made in Toledo, I do have a 700 R4. I guess the 4 pin connector is a dead give-away

this may be dumb but 4l60E in 1992

Most articles online say the 4l60E was introduced in 1993-xxxxx My question is, are there some 1992 GMC Sierra there have the 4L60E and not the 700r4/4L60?? My truck is a 92, here is a picture of the transmission I pulled. Which coincidentally is made in Toledo, which is the same place they...

Electrical - Anyone make sense of this..? where you at Skylark

Sky... I saw a comment of yours in a different post. When it comes to the negative ground positions... I have the battery post and then a small ground heading passenger side fender and then the bigger ground goes down and bolts to one of the frame bolts passenger side engine. My question is...

Electrical - Anyone make sense of this..? where you at Skylark

I haven't messed with it yet but when I tested the battery before hooking it up it gave me 12.6. I started the truck and it jumped to 14.3 or 4 and then over about 5 minutes of idle that droped down to about 13.9. After I turned the key off I tested the battery and was now at 12.9. To be...

Electrical - Anyone make sense of this..? where you at Skylark

Coincidentally... I ran my battery to the shop to have them test it and it came up.bad, luckily within 2 yr limit so was warrantied. I did happen to buy a cheap voltmeter and light circuit while I was there, I hadn't read this yet. For now my battery light is still on after installing new...

Electrical - Anyone make sense of this..? where you at Skylark

I'm having a hard time understanding why my battery light is on. Furthermore there seems to be a drain on my engine when the truck is off. While idling the system is charging at 13.7

ADVICE: FLUSHING OUT "OIL SENDING SWITCH" PASSAGE. 92' 350V8 TBI 5.7

Ya, well now it's on to electrical charging issues. (Battery light always on) No more leaks and Tranny is shifting although I'm nervous about some sounds reverse is making. I think it's time to offload this 4x4...

ADVICE: FLUSHING OUT "OIL SENDING SWITCH" PASSAGE. 92' 350V8 TBI 5.7

Sigh. Well oil leak fixed.. but I have a coolant leak now on the other side. I'm really hoping that it's the heater core hose as the Quick Connect broke and his only halfway in The Grommet and the hose is a little loose to the touch. I don't want to have to do this manifold again. Practice...

ADVICE: FLUSHING OUT "OIL SENDING SWITCH" PASSAGE. 92' 350V8 TBI 5.7

Okay let's jump out of the reminiscing. Realistically I'm sure there's a post about this already, but I'm conflicted about the RTV or Permatex application when I'm putting my manifold back on. I saw one video where a dude did Permatex around everything then did the gasket then Permatex over the...

Also the dimpling or making shallow holes every inch or so on the intake manifold surface that connects to the engine. The seems actually wise?

ADVICE: FLUSHING OUT "OIL SENDING SWITCH" PASSAGE. 92' 350V8 TBI 5.7

Another question... I'm noticing a little bit of coolant building up resting on the valve cover right here. Could this be an artifact of the Leaky intake manifold?
