Have to blip throttle to shift into 4 hi?

If the fluid is at the correct level and everything else seems to work okay I wouldn't be worried about it, seems like normal operation. Not sure how hard you're pulling on the shifter but my 6 gmt400s have all needed a good jerk to get up into 4hi, it doesn't shift easily like a manual trans...

Have to blip throttle to shift into 4 hi?

Is the truck auto or standard? In my previous autos usually it went into 4hi without any issue, occasionally I would have to blip the throttle to get into 4 hi. In my manual, I almost always have to push the clutch in to get it to go into 4 hi while driving, haven't tried blipping the throttle.

88-94 External Slave Master Cylinder With 95+ Internal Slave

I have a '91 K1500 with a 4.3 and a getrag/nv3500 with an external slave cylinder. The transmission is very noisy and on it's way out. I have a good '97 nv3500 (internal slave cylinder) and would like to swap that in seeing as they were a better design. I have done quite a bit of searching and...

    How many shifts.

It's pretty easy to see on the stock tach, if you don't have one it's easy to wire up an aftermarket. What size tire do you have? The codes could be wrong, the only way to know for sure is to jack it up, spin the wheel and count the driveshaft rotation or pop the cover and check the ring gear

    How many shifts.

If you're cruising at 60mph watch the tach and tap the brake pedal just enough to hit the switch for the brake lights. As soon as you touch the brake pedal it sends a signal to unlock the torque converter and the rpms will jump up a few hundred rpms, then if you release the brake a few seconds...

    1995 Ecu Questions, Manual Swap

Is 16197427 not the service number? Is there a number on the chip itself inside the ECU? It wouldn't run on a chip from a 4.3/5 speed chip and the tranny shifts and there are no engine codes so it must be a chip out of a 5.7/4l60e truck

    1995 Ecu Questions, Manual Swap

The truck is a 5.7, not a 4.3. And As I mentioned, the ecu code is 16197427 What is the part number? Is the truck a 1995? I believe that year is specific unlike the previous years. As I mentioned earlier it is an sm465 not an nv3500 although I don't think it matters for this purpose

    1995 Ecu Questions, Manual Swap

Seeing as I have a 100% stock motor and don't intend on any modifications I can't really justify spending twice the money if the hypertech will do the job

    1995 Ecu Questions, Manual Swap

I imagine it is the one that came out of the 5.7/4l60e truck as the whole dash and column were swapped in for the newer motor. the code is the same as the one you mentioned, 16197427

    1995 Ecu Questions, Manual Swap

https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/hyp-351791/applications/year/1995/make/chevrolet/model/k1500?prefilter=1 Summit has a hypertech 351791 chip which lists for use in 1995 k1500 5.7l manual transmissions. Would that achieve the same goal as a factory manual ecu or burning an eprom? I think...

    1995 Ecu Questions, Manual Swap

I wouldn't be worried about the codes if they didn't affect engine performance. Would a 1995 ecu out of a factory 350/nv3500 or nv4500 work?

    1995 Ecu Questions, Manual Swap

I've never looked into that, the most I've done is swap one computer for another, I've never opened them. Would it run without converting the EPROM?

    1995 Ecu Questions, Manual Swap

Just acquired a new truck, 95 reg cab long box. It is a 1995 and is currently 350tbi/4l60e. I am looking to do a standard swap, the truck was a factory 4.3/5speed so there is already a hole in the floor, pedal is already there, master cylinder is still there as well. I have a sm465 with a hydro...

Front Axle Seals? Different in designs without tearing apart?

It looks like those are the rear axle seals, underneath the part name it says "Rear, 4WD" 8.5 would be the 10 bolt and 9.5 would be the 14 bolt SF For the front I think there are only the 8.25 and 9.25 diffs and if yours is a 1500 I believe it would be the 8.25

    Questions on Traction Bars

My truck is my daily driver, 98 ECSB 4.3, automatic, 10 bolt rear end with 3.42s and a lock right locker. 75% of my driving is done on dirt roads or trails, and often times it involves climbing steep hills with loose or rocky terrain. Since I've installed the locker traction is a lot better but...

    4l60e TC Lockup Switch Wiring

I have a '98 C1500 4.3 4l60e and I was wondering if there was any way to re-wire the switch for the torque converter lockup to have it on a rocker switch as opposed to having it lock up on it's own and unlock when the brake pedal is pushed. I have an old monte carlo with a 355/700r4 and...
