    I've been working on this conversion on and off for a few months now and down to the last bit of tweaking before bodywork and paint. I was going to put my pics in an album and post it up if anyone is interested. Would it go here or in the fab sub-forum? Thoughts?

    I can only attest to the problem with the distributor gear. That is really the only problem that I've ever had with starting my truck. You've checked pretty much everything else except the dist gear and the timing chain. When I could get my truck to crank, it ran fairly well with a bit of hiccuping.

    I lucked out and found a crack-free dash at the pull-a-part. Took it home, cleaned it up, and re-dyed it. The trick is finding one in an suv like tahoe/yukon/etc. as those were more likely to have been garaged.
