1990 GMC Sierra Axle housing thickness

Hi Everyone, I am getting Detroit Tru Trac put in my rear end. However after taking out the rear end, around the leaf spring u bolt mounts is quite a bit of rust which I removed. It has made about 1/8" or more craters. My question is how thick are the axle housings? Thanks
