Can a C3500 5.7L 4.10 beat 10 MPG?
Had a 2000 K3500 w/ 7.4L 4.10 dually. On a good day driving down hill with a tail wind, I got around 11.5-12 mpg. Towing my 6500lb travel trailer I got around 9. Mileage usually has more to do with how you drive it and how its maintained rather than what its equipped with. My 2010 GMC 2500HD...- Tom P

I have a new melling timing set, Fel Pro Timing Cover Gasket set, One Piece oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, and an EGR gasket. We discovered that merely replacing the factory timing set will advance the stock cam and should easily net some low end power. A slightly used GM fuel pressure... -

Believe me, you’d hear it. It’s not so much a buzzing as it sounds like a garden faucet that’s only partially open... not sure if that’s because my fuel pump is putting out quite a bit more pressure than the fuel system is used to or I have faulty bits- Tom P

Replaced Fuel Sender, Gauge off by 10 gallons now.
Nothing solved yet. We went to mexico for a week and now I'm playing catch-up with about a dozen other things. My thought is its a wiring issue of some kind or just the dash cluster is old and worn out. I thought about changing the needle's position on the dash as a short term fix. It could...- Tom P

I think you might have a deeper issue. I assume that you have an 8 foot bed since you have the 34 gallon tank? Also what make and model of fuel pump did you use? The fuel sender picks up fuel from the very bottom of the unit. There should be a little sock that sticks out of the bottom which...- Tom P

Wow what a stupidly simple idea. Yes a full tank tanks it much higher than the full point. It seems to me that it’s falling faster than it should but I will definitely look into that idea.- Tom P

Replaced Fuel Sender, Gauge off by 10 gallons now.
Well I know the pump is sitting on the bottom of the tank because I had to compress the sending unit to get the snap ring in. I only have a 25 gallon tank. With the new unit, when the gauge reads empty the truck still has 8-10 gallons left in the tank. I have not run the truck dead empty yet...- Tom P
