    Have a 1998 k2500 , 454 rebuilt 11,000 miles ago. Literally everything new. I have a good scanner that I can see live data on and when #8 injector was shut down, it kept running smooth, so it was replaced. Still running rich on bank 2. Fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator , map sensor, etc...

    Well, mechanic cut one of the cats off to gut it and the previous owner has already done so. New ECU on the way. If that doesn't do, I'm going with the engine builders recommended mechanic.

    Truck has had a scan tool on it several times. Initially when I bought the truck and realized it was getting hotter than it should, I put my scanner on and realized the distributor was a tooth off( -22.5°). Had the mechanic pull the distributor and correct it to get the timing set to zero...

    Yea, that's my problem though. I don't wanna rig a brand new motor with a bandaid fix. Need to find the underlying problem that's causing it. I'm gonna use this truck to tow a trailer out of state frequently.

    I did. I cut the center section out of one and just used the base as a restrictor and it did the same thing. Next one I put in was a high flow and I drilled two 1/8" holes in it. Same deal.

    If my temps on the gauge were staying consistent when I pull off a highway I wouldn't think twice about it. I fully understand no 2 engines are exactly the same even if built with identical parts, but the 20-25° jump just by pulling off the highway tells me coolant isn't properly circulating...
