The skid plate will look AWESOME when jumping the truck and getting some air. I will say that I never gave it much thought other than it makes it harder to work on anything underneath.
But since you have the time why not do some Upgrades.
Been awhile since I have posted and I thought I would get some feedback on a couple of questions.
So the engine is in, fired up and break in done, and have done the required doughnuts on the Highway. Minor upgrades done, empty converters, two and a half in out Flowmaster super 44 mufflers, 4...
Very good useful information with Links added. I was doing almost the same thing with the O2 censor on my header equipped MCSS back in the mid to later 80s, although computers were much different back then.
Thanks kennythewelder!
Yes a 98 K1500 Z71 L31R, I just cant bring myself to cook a new engine, maybe bring the temp down some? Is there an outlet that sells a cooler dual temp stat?
Thanks
Thanks for the replies. What I was looking at was WOT, that the "lip" is reducing airflow. Now if removing the lip causes a lean condition or was an air deflector at WOT, so that the front four runners in the intake are seeing the same air as the rear four because of the offset of the throttle...
Hello, what is the purpose of the air deflector on the front of the throttle bore plate? Anyone know if it can be removed for better, or worse airflow?
Hello, I was looking at the front underside of the throttle plate and noticed a flush riveted wide piece of sheet metal on the plate. The other side nothing, what is purpose and should it stay?
Thanks
I am going to block off Exhaust manifold port for now until my headers show up, and block off intake manifold hole, leave EGR in place with it plugged in and see what happens. I still have the good exhaust to intake tube in case off off idle pinging.
What the heck didn't cost anything so why...
Sounds like Fun and my main thought is how long will the B82 converter last and that you may be giving up all the low end grunt if you can get the tires to plant? Just thinking, do you ever tow any trailers?
The cooler the air and fuel entering the combustion chamber the more horsepower attained. A Givin. Higher coolant temps, thinner oils, are better for fuel mileage but are actually cooking everything under the hood.
Now there is truth in the at speed the air entering is cooler than at idle, but...
Thanks for the linkup df2x4. Will look at and see, was looking for a programmer that I can also own.
The Wife has left there and works for Heavy Truck Repair now but still has account, contacts.
