I asked a similar question a while back and got no answer.
My plan is to use some CAD (cardboard aided design) to mock up diameter, offset and wheel width to check clearances right on the truck. There are also tools you can buy to do this more accurately (Google wheel size tool).
Sorry I...
i'm looking at buying new wheels/tires for my 2/4 drop on my 96 ECSB, here's what im looking at:
Front : 245/60/15 on a 15x8 with 4.5 in backspace
Rear : 295/50/15 on a 15x10 with 5.5 in backspace
I don't want to roll fenders or anything. Am I on the right track? I want them to tuck in the...
Great Info here guys, ended up going with DJM 2" drop spindles (DS2056-2), DJM 4" hanger and shackle kit (HS1121-4), Belltech shock kit (9523) and a Belltech driveshaft alignment kit (4981) to sort the vibration issues. I'll finish with a new set of Cooper Cobras in 275/60/15 all around...
I've got a cam+springs LQ4 swapped 96 C1500 that I'm incrementally working towards making a turbo motor. I'm going to do a lowering kit this spring and while the box is off I'm going to take the opportunity to upgrade the fuel pump for future 80lb injectors to support the farther in the future...
I'm using a LQ4 with return rails. I just ran new lines from where the filter is up to the rails and used the russell adapters to adapt the AN to the quick connect. You have a 1997 so unless you're running big injectors, your stock pump will work fine. That's all there is to it. More work in...
Delta_p, do you have any pics of those wheels on your truck? i found some d window steelies with those exact specs. the thing i hate most about my current wheels is that they stick out too far. no clue what their specs are, other than 15x8.
how come? what would you do instead?
do you happen to know where i can find which shock p/n's i'd need? or would you go new parts store stuff with shock extenders?
Merry christmas yall!
The shocks are OEM probably factory so they're likely shot and need new ones. Would there be a good shock to get since I'll have to buy shocks anyways?
So i'm planning to lower my 96 Extended cab short box C1500. I'm a little unclear on what parts to use to do the drop. I'm thinking a 2/4 drop using DJM Spindles and DJM shackle and hanger kit. I'm not sure what to do about shocks.
I'm planning on running some d window steel 15in rims...
Beautiful truck, I have the same one, one year older and one province to the east. I'm jealous of how clean yours is.
Do you think a c-notch is necessary if a guy isn't hauling anything?
why the djm spindles with the beltech kit rather than an entire beltech kit?
I'm using a Holley Terminator X Max for my 6.0 swap into my 96 C1500 ECSB. I'll be removing the ECM which means my AC wires have nowhere to go. My plan is to use 2 relays that are normally closed. Run the AC request pin into one relay, out to the next relay and then on to the OEM compressor...
is there another spot to put the OBS sensor? the Gen 3 sensor will be in the stock location and hooked up to the holley. if i went the standalone GM PCM then it would work cause it doesnt need the oil pressure anyways
I'm running DBC. The Holley does have the ability to set the speed as one of the outputs so I'm thinking that will work if I hook that to the speedo.
One question about the oil pressure sender. Where do you put the obs sender on the gen 3 engine since the Holley system uses the stock gen 3...
