Ok, so quick update. Took intermediate and lower shafts out. The intermediate shaft still has a nice firm joint but was rusty so I gave it a good cleaning and sprayed it with Plasti-Dip (love that stuff, starting to paint the whole truck in it!) then moved to the lower shaft. Also, what about eliminating the upper joint (outside fire wall) and just have the u-joint at the steering box and a straight shaft attached outside fire wall? Or is it the rag joint that prevents the over center and possible binding? I'm just trying to wrap my head around the whole...- gndd1997
