Not bad at all, considering. Happened a long time ago, honestly! Just took a while for the crack to expand enough to make a noticeable leak, I guess. My grille guard took most of the hit, it and the bumper kind of lean back from it, but just cosmetic. Cracked the grille and it's mounting tabs in...- denhamt1983

Nice, thanks! Yeah, I have one set of hose pliers, planning on clamping off the lower hose to lose as little as possible. The radiator is cracked from an impact with a deer, not clogged up or anything, so not too worried about flushing. Just looking to replace as cheaply as possible- denhamt1983

I'm replacing my radiator this weekend and curious about how much coolant, oil, and transmission fluid I can expect to have to replace. I know I should do a flush and replace all the fluids, but I'm not going to, just wanna replace what gets lost. Thanks!- denhamt1983

1997 5.7L Direct Drive or Gear Reduction starter
Pretty much just trying to find out which style starter it SHOULD have before I order the thing. Know the kid I bought it from had replaced it 3 times in the last 5 years, latest one burnt up after 1700 mile trip, guess the heat was too much. Hard start when warm 97 5.7L
Thanks everybody! I replaced the crank sensor and the temp sensor (one on thermostat housing) and now it starts when hot, but still runs kinda crappy once it does. Next step is the evap vacuum solenoid, just got here today and will get it on soon- denhamt1983

Doesn't matter, if the A/C is on, it's doing it. Doesn't matter how long it's been running either, or if it's on fresh air or recirculating- denhamt1983

Basically. It's like when someone puts an amp in their car and you can hear the engine revving through the speakers, but you hear it revving as a "rumble" under the dash that follows engine rpm. Only there with A/C running- denhamt1983

This is all great advice, thanks! I have been worried about crank sensor. I did buy the truck in March, think it was probably this way for PO too. Am worried about crank sensor, havent replaced but when I got the truck had a very bad, long term coolant leak from water pump, replaced that too...- denhamt1983

Hard start when warm 97 5.7L
I'm at my wits end here. 1997 Suburban K1500 5.7L. Newish fuel pump, new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ICM, TPS, IAC, EGR, spider injector, exhaust completely all new. When the truck has been sitting between 15 mins and 45 mins hot will not start for anything, and once it does start it idles super...- denhamt1983

One exhaust gasket per manifold or two?
Replacing exhaust manifolds, 97 5.7L Vortec. The manifolds came with two gasket sets per manifold. Am I supposed to combine them together or use just one? They are the compressed fiber type, metallic on one side only. Thanks- denhamt1983
