Backfiring after reassembling disttributor

I fixed it. The dizzy rotor broke somehow and I think it was misaligned from the pickup coil, causing the timing to be off. Replaced with a different dizzy and fired right up and ran nice again. I swear, aftermarket parts are absolute garbage if they're not ACDelco.

I took one bank of wires off and triple-checked that they were right when put back on, so that's not the problem.

Yeah, sorry should have mentioned that. The oil sender was reading really low at hot idle, right above the red area on the dash. I was putting in the sender from the TBI engine to see if it would read higher because I know the engine has good oil pressure at cold idle, at least. Just one of...
