I actually already have that link saved from somewhere else you had posted it lol
You mentioned that you had some tubing hangers that don't use the horseshoe clamps, what style are you using?
I've got an 88 G20 in need (want) of a new exhaust and these last few pages have been deeply inspiring (damaging to my wallet)
Been really enjoying following along
Posting to congratulate you on your good fortune with fixing the leak.
I too hope to seal all my leaks one day :bawl:
My van feels more like a wrangler with the doors off than a van sometimes
You said the new O2 sensor was a Bosch unit.
I've read a few times that for whatever reason the TBI's don't like the Bosch O2 sensors. I believe it was RBob who mentioned it in an EBL Flash tuning thread on thirdgen.org? I can't remember, but I do remember reading some grumbles about TBI and...
As far as I know the G10 and 20 vans from around that time had 2 1/4" wide leaf springs. Only the G30 got the 2 1/2" ones.
Do you remember if that was the issue?
I have a G20 and I'm wondering if I could potentially cram regular 2.5" truck springs onto it.
I had a terrible experience with trying to get a USB to ALDL cable from reddevilriver on ebay.
Ordered it and payed immediately and got totally ghosted even after a couple weeks and several messages. This is just my experience but I would steer clear.
I have no experience with BoostedNW, but...
Do you have a scan tool?
Easy way to check if you're jumping into closed loop/the CTS is incorrect right off the bat
The cracked headers before the O2 shouldn't be messing with your AFR because *normally* right after starting you'd still be running in open loop without input from the O2 sensor
So I got another pump out of a good donor van at my local yard.
Having been in and around this internals of this van several times now, I can say without a doubt that it was cared for better and is in better shape than the one I currently have in my driveway…
The inside of the pump was...
Exactly, I'm not sure that the edges of the rotor come into contact with the walls of the cam at all.
I had my boss look at it and that was the first thing he said, that the rotor doesn't actually contact the walls of the cam.
I think I might still go grab another one from the junkyard because...
So here’s a thought: in the vans, the fluid reservoir is connected to the housing via a length of tubing. I wonder if the truck style housing helps the pump stay better lubricated because the fluid is right there.
Maybe I should source one from a truck?
I assumed as much
Actually the walls of the cam are in pretty good shape.
I work at a factory that makes pump components for GM, so I see the modern counterparts of this pump all the time and they’re brand spanking new so I thought maybe my expectations for the old parts were too high...
Hi everyone, 88 G20 van with a 350
I tore apart my PS pump today to re-gasket it as a little winter project.
Now looking at the internals, the thrust faces of the rotor are pretty chewed up and I’m wondering if this level of wear is typical of a 30 year old Saginaw pump or if I could try my...
