What to look for 1998 suburban

Swapped out the yellowed turn signals. Debating clear side marker lights but I’d like to avoid changing the appearance too much.

    Exterior LED upgrade fail

Thanks for the detailed response, I'm going to test my battery and see if that isn't causing some issues. When running down the highway for a while, the drivers drl tries to switch over but just flickers. I noticed that the volt meter in the dash is always around 14-15V which would indicate...

    Exterior LED upgrade fail

Well there’s One mystery solved. Only issue is the signal light being on with the headlights on. Doesn’t really bug me though. Now to get these damn switchbacks to function. Can’t figure out why they work with 2 in but don’t with all 4. I have my theories though…

    Exterior LED upgrade fail

I've replaced the flasher relay with an LED compatable one. I had the best luck with a Standard Intermotor EFL6, but they will not signal when the headlight switch is in the on position.

    Exterior LED upgrade fail

What's odd is they don't list that anywhere on the ad. They arent Can Bus compatable but thats all they say. When you seach SRCK compatable 3157 these are like the 3rd listing to pop up. It works great when the headlight switch is in the off position, and even with it on, the brake light...

What to look for 1998 suburban

Started cleaning up the interior, used some Chemical Guys leather cleaner/conditioner spent maybe 40 minutes total on the pair and was pretty happy with the results. Before After Here’s a test spot up close to give a better comparison

    Exterior LED upgrade fail

Last night I installed LED switchbacks up front (White DRL with yellow turn), initally when I put them in, the driver's side switchback worked no problem but the passenger side did not (it just stayed amber). I went ahead and threw in a set of tail light bulbs, but realized I didn't order enough...

    Ford Model T - Overlander

I clicked on this thread purely because of the perceved absurdity. After reading through it, I'm finding myself deeply invested in where the thing ends up. Kudos for the imagination on this one. Really really cool build.

What to look for 1998 suburban

Speaking of windows, they had some gnarly hard water stains in them. It spent its life in Portland so that’s to be expected. An afternoon with a DA buffer and some glass stripper later, the rears look much better. The fronts need gone over again but I’ll do that later. Photos don’t do it...

What to look for 1998 suburban

I put it up on a lift at work, the only mechanical things even remotely wrong with it are the front shocks being blown and the front crank seal is very lightly seeping (to the point where changing it may not be worth it) I ordered a set of Bilsteins for the front, I’m gonna go through all the...

    Heated seat switch

The heated seat switch on my 98 suburban 1500 is broken, does anyone make a replacement? The oem one is discontinued part # is 12376804

Well, I found a buyer for the frontier. Sad to see it go but it was time. My ownership of the burb will be an exercise in restraint. Here’s to hoping.

What to look for 1998 suburban

I'm 99% certain I can get it for around $2600. I'm a Ford guy but this and any old square body k20 are my only exceptions. I also like the idea of collecting parts to swap an lq4/80E in whenever (if ever) the TBI 350 decides to give up the ghost. Would be a pretty great candidate to throw some...

What to look for 1998 suburban

I'm fairly certain these are oem. I'll have to check them though. If they are factory mirrors, is there a fix for the glass shaking or do I need to just order new ones?

What to look for 1998 suburban

Well there's one potential issue solved then. Now that I think of it, the only other issue I noticed was that the mirrors on this thing shake a decent bit. not the whole mirror but the glass inside the housing. Theyre the small non tow mirror ones
