    1995 Chevrolet Silverado 4X4 Restore/Modify

Worked on her again yesterday. Finally installed my Magnaflow/Flowmaster Stainless cat back exhaust!! It had all steel exhaust with dual tail pipes straight out the back and the muffler and pipes were horribly rotten. It sounds great and I ditched the duals straight out the back for a nice 4"...

    1993 GMC 5.7 TBI Strange Idle/Driveability Problems

Well I still have a problem, but I bought another truck so this old girl can have a little break till it gets a new motor and tranny. Might mess around with it some more too.

    1995 Chevrolet Silverado 4X4 Restore/Modify

Here's an update: I bought another '95 ECSB with a much better drivetrain. I took the motor and trans out and I'm currently working on swapping the transmissions so it will back up once again! Also installing a cooler to hopefully avoid future issues, then I can start doing cosmetics and...

    1993 GMC 5.7 TBI Strange Idle/Driveability Problems

I FINALLY FIXED IT! Decided to look into the MAP sensor again, unplugged it and the truck ran better, but was very rich obviously. Then I took a closer look at the vacuum line from the throttle body to the sensor, and found it was a thread away from being broken in half. I taped it up for now as...

    1993 GMC 5.7 TBI Strange Idle/Driveability Problems

Well I fixed the vibration, there was a spark plug wire that got melted by the manifold. It's running fine now that it's cold. After Christmas I am going to get a new computer for it and I'll check that knock sensor when I get time.

'95 Chev NO REVERSE, Other Gears Work Fine

I am also wondering if it would be easier to put the ecu from the donor truck in since it's same year and will plug right into the 4l80e?

'95 Chev NO REVERSE, Other Gears Work Fine

Yes mine is a shortbox, but the main thing I was concerned about is the rear end. My current rear end will work with the new trans right?

'95 Chev NO REVERSE, Other Gears Work Fine

So here's an update, I bought a donor truck. It's a 1995 ECLB 2500 with the 4L80e. It has a 350 in it just like mine, I am wondering what all I need to do to swap the trannys? I know you need to change the crossmember and the torque convertor and all that good stuff but it there any other major...

    1993 GMC 5.7 TBI Strange Idle/Driveability Problems

Okay, when I replaced the distributor (because it was running like crap) I found the timing was at 12 degrees adv, so that's when I put it back to 0 degrees. This was like a year ago, still runs like crap now. Also when you put your foot into it, there is a major vibration and shaking, goes away...

    1995 Chevrolet Silverado 4X4 Restore/Modify

Well I finally got the truck in this weekend, pulled the wheels and started to bleed the brakes but was stopped by a leaky wheel cylinder, so replaced that and the line from the splitter at the back axle, and we are going to try again today. hopefully everything goes well! I'll post pics later.

    1993 GMC 5.7 TBI Strange Idle/Driveability Problems

It was at 12 degrees advanced awhile ago but I put it back to 0 degrees when I put distributor in.

    1993 GMC 5.7 TBI Strange Idle/Driveability Problems

I could try playing with it and seeing if I can find a sweet spot. I will also check that knock sensor. I checked all the wires off the computer and everything looks good. I also checked the wire to the knock sensor and its fine. I put some electrical contact cleaner on the plug to it as well...
