    1997 k1500 5.7 Vortec P0307 misfire

SilverFatBoy thank you for the response, I have been wanting to replace my distributor anyway since one of the plastic threaded tabs broke a while back, I have been using a machine screw and nut to hold the cap in place for a few years now. I will probably upgrade to an all metal distributor.

    1997 k1500 5.7 Vortec P0307 misfire

Quick note, I had another distributor cap and swapped it, she ran fine for a half hour or so and restarted a couple times without issue, parked it overnight then went to emissions first thing and passed, then I went to the store and when I came back i started the truck and felt the chugging...

    1997 k1500 5.7 Vortec P0307 misfire

As the title states it is a 1997 k1500 with the vortec 350. I did a full tune up a couple years ago and only driven around 1000 miles since, trans went out and needed rebuilt. I also replaced all intake manifold gaskets and upgraded the injection from poppets to the mpfi that I believe was ac...

    Amp Mounting Ideas

Thank you ZSEVEN1, 2 shallow mount 10's in that box. Almost mounted the amps to the front of the box but I don't like that idea and it's not good for the amps anyway, so yes back wall it was and I am glad I mounted them there!

    Amp Mounting Ideas

I thought about mounting the amps to the back of the rear seat, found out that there isn't much to attach anything too or to bolt anything to behind my seat without tearing into the upholstery.

    Amp Mounting Ideas

Thank you zseven1, I was looking for ideas that keep the back seat, but that makes a nice looking setup as well. Here is what I ended up doing.

    Amp install question.

Yes I was hoping there was a way to hook up amplifier power and stereo power to same speakers, as to not have speaker wires going unused. Maybe I will just add another set of mid range speakers in the back somewhere, maybe in the headliner and run the amp power to those instead of the pillar...

    Amp Mounting Ideas

I have a 1997 ecsb and I am adding a couple amps for my door speakers and rear pillar speakers. I have a dual downfire 10" box under the back seat. I am thinking about mounting the amps to the back of the seat so I have easy access for any future adjustments but can also be out of sight if I...

    Amp install question.

I am adding an amplifier to my front and rear speakers, already have one for my subs. My question is, is there a way to not waste the power coming from the stereo? Is there something that can go in line to prevent back feeding wattage from the amp to the stereo or vise versa so the speakers can...

1996 and newer switch panel ideas.

I have seen that done and it can look good. I use my cubby to hold my phone so I am looking for creative options as well. I am going to build a custom console under the dash in front of the seats to mount my cb radio and some real cupholders etc... I may just end up adding some switch mounts in...

1996 and newer switch panel ideas.

That would be a great spot, I have the split bench with the fold up armrest and thought about using that space, just wasn't that practical in my truck.

1996 and newer switch panel ideas.

This is the simple ashtray switch panel I made out of some 1/16th abs panel I had. Yes I know I have a lot going on, i just replaced the dash and am in the process of running some new wiring to my accesories. Looks like a mess now but it should come together in the next few days.

1996 and newer switch panel ideas.

My truck is a 1997 k1500 and I have a few ideas to place a switch panel and was curious what everyone else did in terms of a panel for switches. I have 5 rocker switches in my overhead console and I have 5 or so more to install and ran out of room in the overhead console. I made a panel for the...
