    SilverFatBoy thank you for the response, I have been wanting to replace my distributor anyway since one of the plastic threaded tabs broke a while back, I have been using a machine screw and nut to hold the cap in place for a few years now. I will probably upgrade to an all metal distributor.

    Thank you ZSEVEN1, 2 shallow mount 10's in that box. Almost mounted the amps to the front of the box but I don't like that idea and it's not good for the amps anyway, so yes back wall it was and I am glad I mounted them there!

    Sounds like there use to be an alarm in your truck. I know my remote start connects to the brake light wire so you might have break in that wire where the connection was made.

    I wouldn't choose to but if my alternator goes out and I need one, say I am on a road trip or camping somewhere and can't choose my replacement alternator, then I can get on the road and deal with it when home. I like options because I am also not big on being stranded on the side of the road.

    I really like my idea, and it would allow me to go back to an original alternator if I ever needed or wanted too without buying another belt. Seems like once the new hole was there it would just take a couple minutes to switch from one to another, almost seems more elegant to me.
