Yup we have been using the AUTOCAL for remote datalogging, very useful tool.

This is the way to go, remote autocal datalogged tunes (AKA cable tunes, etc), are FAR superior to general mail ordered tunes.

Will doing a 0411 swap now, help me down the road when I do an LS swap? Like will it be compatible with the LS engine so all I will need is the wiring harness changed over?

the 411 IS a LS computer, so a retune is basically all you need as far as the PCM is concerned.

From what lex told me when I asked, you have to move a few wires and add injector pigtails. Sounded much easier than trying to make your own from a ls harness though....

If you have done the 0411 swap then you will already be well on your way to the Gen3 install. You will basically need to add 10 wires from the PCM to the coil pack harnesses. You need to cut off the big CPI connector and wire up your 8 individual injector connectors and lengthen/reroute the CKP connector. The additional correctly colored wires and coil harness connectors can be purchased from EFIConnection.com Your PCM will need to be reflashed with the correct calibration and a couple of additional parameter changes for the Gen3 calibration to operate the fuel and tach gauges properly. I have a wiring file for the changes that need to be performed to an already 0411 equipped truck. I don't understand why anybody would want to reharness their truck when this repin with a few additions is so easy and inexpensive.

yes, that is correct, I was referring to the PCM itself, since Nate was asking if it was compatable with an LS. but for the actual LSx swap, yeah, there are some pins that have to be changed, etc, but its pretty easy like Lextech mentioned.

I thought the 0411 was the PCM from a Gen III vehicle, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks Lextech, Mike, and Aloicious this is a great thread. Lextech if you don't mind I will be PMing you for that copy.

Thanks guys,
Nate

The 12200411 PCM was used in 2001 and 2002 on the GM trucks and vans and S10 variants. It was used from 01-03 in the Corvette and 03-04 Holden vehicles. So, from GM it runs the 4.3, 4.8, 5.0, 5.3, 5.7, 5.7LS1, 6.0, 8.1 depending on its calibration.

Dumb question, I thought the 98-00 already had an upgraded ECU - maybe I'm on crack
