What year did the hook start? I know the 95 up arm is stronger and holds to windshield tighter. My 93 needs new arms.. & since im changing them anyway figured id go to hook at same time

Not sure when the hook started, guessing it was in '95. I upgraded my truck to the '95+ style arms early last year, they work much better. Noticeably stronger springs/leverage, less chatter on the windshield.

Dorman 42579 Right Wiper Arm*
Dorman 42580 Left Wiper Arm*

Since there was a debate on what wiper worked best, I put the 19" on the drivers side, and 18" on the passengers side. You could easily run the 19" on both sides on my truck.

18" Wiper - ACDelco 8-4418
19" Wiper - ACDelco 8-4419

*updated for clarity.

Thanks. I currently have 19 on driver & passenger. Passenger gets right up to thd top but the last 2 inches dont really hug the windshield at all

So i found them online & locally. But i did see GM part nunber to be 15043063 . That is for driver & passenger. Will either the 42580 or 42579 work for either side ? I think one was about 10$ more expensive

When it's nice out, I take my wiper arms off. Put 'em behind the seat. Cover the posts with some 5/8" table leg slides. 4 for a buck!
I've never kept track of which arm fits what side when I take them off.
I do know that they are stamped with an R or an L, but have never paid attention. Grab one & drop it on when installing. Work like they should.
A $10.00 diff? Wonder why. Seems wierd.

For the wipers arms, you need one of each. I bought mine on Amazon.
