what's the best gear ratio for me

ok everybody, i have a 95 silverado z71. i use this truck as a DD, i also take it off road when i go hunting and fishing and to have fun in the mud, im gonna be lifting it 4 inches and putting on 33's. i dont tow much at all, the occasional load of scrap metal. and vary rarely tow a car for someone on a tow dolly and whenever i get stationed somewhere else ill prolly pull a uhaul. whats the best gear ratio for 33's. ill substitute a little power for some added mpg, i get ab 15-17 hwy and 12-14 city i would like to stay at that. idk what i have right now bc i cant look in the glove box bc i put a 98 dash in from a 2 wheel drive truck.

I would say 3.73s would be alright since you don't tow much and are looking for some mpgs

Im gonna assume you have 265/75 16s right now correct? If so this is 265s with 3.42 gears

I have 3.73's and 33's (285/70r17's) and I don't like it. I have a set of 4.11's waiting to be installed just haven't done it yet. And I don't tow much and it's my dd. so after I get the gears in it ill let you know if I like it or not!

ok man i appreciate it, how does your truck drive now. lacks power, horrible gas mileage whats making you wanna put in 4.11

Going from 3.73 to 4.11 is hardly worth the effort and/or expense. The 4.11's are a popular choice for 33's, if you had 3.42's it would be worth it. I went from 3.23 to 3.55 once and barely noticed it.
