Hey, I have a 1996 Chevy Cheyenne 1500, my transmission won't shift anymore, so I'm wondering what transmission can I use to replace it with the least amount of work. It has a 4.3 vortec v6, all stock

Any 1996-1997 4L60E would work, assuming you have a 4L60E in there (and not a manual trans). Make sure you either reuse your current tc or have it rebuilt.Hey, I have a 1996 Chevy Cheyenne 1500, my transmission won't shift anymore, so I'm wondering what transmission can I use to replace it with the least amount of work. Maybe - he'd have to look at the fluid and partially drain the converter, all things he would do once the trans/tc is out. If the fluid has metal or other debris in it, he can have the converter rebuilt.Wouldn’t you be afraid that there might be trash in the old converter
